Every time Karissa messages me to book their next session, I get super excited. I have photographed each of these kids since their newborn sessions. When Ella was born, I invited Karissa to bring Ella into the studio for a model session. She was actually my first newborn session after many hours of newborn training. Ella was the perfect first newborn, a dream to photograph. When she came back for her six-month session, she was so good and sat and posed for every image. Seriously, she is the cutest. When she was around nine months, she came back to be my Christmas model. Getting her to sit on that little sleigh long enough to get a shot was a bit challenging. I had to giggle as Karissa was very pregnant at this time and it was obvious, from this point on, Ella was never going to sit again. A couple months later, Anderson was born. His newborn session was just like his sisters, relaxed and easy. Anders' six-month session was also pretty similar to Ella’s, he sat and posed for every picture.
I met the Rude family at Lions Conservancy Park. It was early in the evening about an hour before sun set. Before the session, I was back in the park with my assistant getting set up and I had this faint suspicion that they had arrived. Okay it wasn’t faint. I could hear little Anders crying in the parking lot and I couldn’t wait to see them!
I chuckle a little every I think of this session. This family is just so much fun and make my job such a joy. This session was the first time I have had Elijah and Karissa in front of the camera. There is this adorable picture where Elijah is whispering something in Karissa’s ear and she is laughing. I told him to whisper to her why he married her. The two of them will only know what he said. Knowing Elijah, I can’t even imagine:0
The kids cried quite a bit during this session and I honestly loved every minute of it. Kids cry, simple as that. There were also many moments where they sat, played, and smiled. They were themselves and that is exactly what I want to capture.
