When I looked out the window and saw Jacye walking toward the studio, I let out a small shriek and maybe started clapping a little. Jayce has the most beautiful androgynous features.
Jayce also has an amazing personality. Every time I told him to smile, he would make a face. I can’t even describe it. His lips sort of went square and his nose would scrunch up. This is the face he and his friends would make taking selfies. When I got an actual smile out of Jayce, I found it endearing how his nose scrunched up and eyes lit up. He has an amazing smile.
One of Jayce’s favorite activities to do is hang out at Skate City with his friends. They practice and choreograph dance routines. Jayce was actually a little anxious to finish the session to get to Skate City to hang out with his friends. Of course I asked if I could come with and take some pictures, and well, I got the horrified teenager look simultaneously with the ‘no’ headshake.
Jayce came with his mom, Stephanie. Stephanie and I got along well talking about family and knitting, two of my favorite things. We started the session with headshots at the studio, next roaming around downtown, and ended at The Lions Conservancy Park in South Fargo. These beautiful grounds have trails that lead down to the river and just slightly into the woods. It’s a nice, quiet, and calm place with lush tall grass and cottontails. The sun set a timer for us and Jayce was still effortlessly posing as our session came to an end. He looked gorgeous in the golden hour sunlight. He is undoubtedly unique, we laughed a lot, and I had such a great time with him and his mom.
